Community Volunteers in Medicine
Community Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM) offers free healthcare, dental care and subsidized medicines to the working poor in the communities surrounding Cephalon headquarters in suburban Philadelphia. “The population we serve can’t afford health coverage of their own, but they also don’t qualify for any of the government programs,” according to CVIM’s former President and CEO Helen F. Heidelbaugh.
CVIM is able to provide free high-quality healthcare to these families thanks to medical professionals who volunteer their time to help over 3,000 patients a year.
“From the beginning, Cephalon has been one of our most important partners,” she said. “In addition to direct support, they have also gone out of their way to open doors for us and provide us with volunteers. Their senior leadership has been personally involved in our planning and development. We wouldn’t be where we are without Cephalon.”
