Clinical Trials Results
  • Results of a Phase 3 clinical trial demonstrate positive results with FENTORA™ (fentanyl buccal table) [C-II] in all measures of pain control assessed in a chronic cancer pain population. FENTORA utilizes OraVescent® technology from Cephalon’s wholly owned subsidiary CIMA LABS INC., designed to produce rapid and efficient absorption of medicine. The medication is designed to help patients with a common, yet undertreated, component of chronic pain called breakthrough pain, which is characterized by its fast onset.
  • Laboratory findings demonstrate that the anti-cancer compound CEP-701 (lestaurtinib) inhibits a specific genetic mutation targeted by the compound in patients' blood samples and were predictive of a positive clinical response, according to preliminary data from a Phase 2 study of patients with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) who bear a FLT3 activating mutation at first relapse from standard induction chemotherapy. The early data suggest that chemotherapy followed by the oral compound CEP-701 may offer a clinical benefit compared to chemotherapy alone
  • In a Phase 2 study of patients with advanced indolent non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) who were previously exposed to multiple courses of therapy, 74 percent responded to TREANDA® (bendamustine HCl), including 35 percent with a complete response. All study participants had progressive disease after prior treatment with the antibody therapy rituximab (Rituxan®); a subgroup also had not responded to traditional alkylating agents. Rituximab and alkylators are commonly prescribed to treat NHL.
